Dream feed

Anyone do a dream feed ? How does it work?

My boy won’t feed if he is asleep, he falls asleep during the night while feeding and I try EVERYTHING to wake him up so he’ll feed more but he won’t. I even take his pants off and tickle his feet and change his nappy but nope he done. Which then he wakes up two hour later hungry because he hasn’t fed enough 😔

But last night he has his usual big formula bottle at 8:45 (I give him formula before bed so he sleeps a good first stretch) and he usually sleeps until 12-12:30 before breastfeeding. But he woke up crying at 10:15 for some reason and I tried settling him for few minutes but he wasnt so I put him on the boob and he drank and went back to sleep… and then he slept until 2am!!!

That was so good he never sleeps that long.

So I was considering trying the dream feed and feeding him before I go to sleep at 10:30ish.

But how will it work if he won’t feed when his asleep? Should I try wake him and then feed him ?
