Baby bumpers not safe ??

Question

Guys I need advice on the crib baby bumpers . My 6 months old is always bumping his head to the crib’s wood . He’s alway crying cuz of it . N also sometimes his leg gets stuck so I want to buy him a bumper to put around his crib . The prob is the one I liked is so thick so he won’t keep hurting his head but reading online a lot said it’s dangerous and kids suffocate ? 
The mesh ones r good for legs getting stuck but hitting head  it won’t do anything . Do u think it’s okay since my son is alittle older and can move him self unlike a newborn  or is it just not worth it ???

Let him bump his head. He learns and doesn't do it at some point. Bumpers are a sids risk, yes, but if baby starts to oull up, he can climb ont hem and fall out of crib that is worse than some bimping. My son took about a week of bumping and waking. Now he does sometimes bump his head or gets his legs stuck, but he doesn't mind anymore 😃.

Safe sleep is just a baby, firm mattress and tight sheet (sleep sack is okay).

It’s easy to fix the issue with stuck legs - put your baby in a sleep sack. 
My son also bumps his head in his crib, but he also does it everywhere else learning to crawl, sit up and soon walk. You can’t put bumpers everywhere. But at some point babies will get more aware of their surroundings and their own bodies. 
There was a news story several days ago from my home country , a one year old hanged himself on some laces in his crib holding handmade bumpers… 
An empty crib is the safest crib

Unfortunately they sell a ton of things that could seriously harm a child. I would get the mesh bumper for the legs and unfortunately just give him cuddles when he bumps his head. Id rather a little bump on the head then to find my childs face buried in a bumper in the morning

Like my midwife said, "it's better for them to break an arm than suffocate to death". 
Also with head bump's even if he's crying it's only from shock of waking up not because it actually hurt him.

I knew they were a sids risk but I also was thinking for younger babies and 6 months would be ok. But I would check with my pediatrician to be sure, bc they could just recommend no bumpers at any age. Not 100% sure
