Ex-bf’s new gf wants to connect with me. Weird or no?

My ex bf’s new gf wants to add me on social media and come down to the US to visit her (I live in Canada). 
I find it a bit weird given the fact that I personally, have never wanted to strike up a connection with any of my SO’s ex’s. Also, when I was with my ex he always spoke negatively of any past gf’s, I have no idea if he’s said things about me, but I can only assume he’s following the same pattern given his personality. Seems strange she wants to connect with me. What do you think?

Could be numerous things but I would blatantly ask her..... why do you wanna be my friend now? Lol but that’s just me! Like I could list a few reasons but they could all be wrong. She’s the only one who knows her own motives so you’d have to ask her and I wanna update if you do 😂🙌🏼
