Pregnant? Or just period late?

Just took a test 7 days late and negative can it just be my period playing games with me and be super late or no? But idk if it’s maybe the brand cause I’m taking test I bought at the 99 cent store ? Should I buy other ones or What do you guys recommend ?
Symptoms: light brown discharge, headaches , nausea , bloating.

I would get a name brand test like Clearblue or First Response. ￼ however, it could just be your period being late. The later you ovulate, the later of your period will come

Honestly, those 99 cent tests work just as well as the $5-$10 ones and I’ve actually picked up a pregnancy on the cheaper ones before the First Response brand (I think they are going downhill as a brand). The next day I got a Clear Blue digital and got my positive. Don’t count those cheapies out. Those are what the doctors use.
