BV at 11 weeks, med help!

Just got diagnosed with bv after having a suspected yeast infection. My first pregnancy I got bv also and the day after taking metronidazole I miscarried and have ptsd from that experience. I realize it could've been 100% coincidence but I still have a stigma attached to it. My midwife said that boric acid is an alternative but all I've seen online is how it's not safe during pregnancy. I've also read women having horrendous side effects from metronidazole.
