Make your own lunch

Do you think it’s wrong for a parent to be telling a 12 year old that if they want lunch for school they have to make their own lunch? This is what my Mum would say to me and my siblings, and genuinely I never remember taking lunch to school, only recess/snacks that my Mum would by. Lunch was all up to me. I do remember taking lettuce and dipping it in sauce… 🤷‍♀️ Other than that there is no memory I have of eating a sandwich at school that my Mum made me.

I’m 23 now and work full time and I often just buy my lunch for work and everyone gets up at me about it but really it was never a habit instilled in me growing up to make and take my own lunch. By the way, it’s not like they were like make your lunch & I’ll help you. It was a no I’m not making you lunch if you want it make it yourself
