I went to the ER after smashing my foot and hearing a pop and they said nothing in my toe was broken but my bruising is getting worse. And my toe feels like it’s being suffocated 
TOP was yesterday morning(when I went to the ER), bottom is this morning

Ice it and elevate it as much as you can. The swelling can press on nerves and restrict blood flow making your foot/toe feel worse.

I’m not a doctor or a nurse but after an accident the following day after is always worse. Bruising and swelling is normal after being smashed. They prob wouldn’t do much still if you were to go back. Ice / cold compress is always helpful.

Sounds totally normal and a lot of times swelling will get worse days 2-3

Not a medical professional, but even if it is broken (seems likely, your bruise is gnarly) not much can be done. I’ve broken toes too many times, get told the same things each time. Stay off of it. Wear stiff sole shoes. “Buddy” tape it to the next toe. Ice it 30 mins on/ 30 mins off. Keep it elevated as much as you can.
