just been seeing A LOT of cultural appropriation questions lately and am curious what is the percentage on eve

I think a lot of people claim that they are when they’re not, or if they have such a small percentage that it probably came from colonization/slavery 🤭. My friend is native but she grew up in the culture, the dances, powwows, has a native name, her grandmother is from the rez type of thing. Basically there’s Native Americans and then there’s posers and that’s the tea

I’m not but my husband is half native! I love learning about his culture from his dad.

There’s a lot of people that HEARD they are Native American and claim to be NA but don’t know anything about our culture and are not enrolled in a tribe. It’s honestly a joke and we refer to them as Pretendians. 
I am 100% Native American, enrolled in a federally recognized tribe, live on my reservation and work for my people.

My husband’s mom has some Cherokee lineage, but nothing that they actually claim as “I’m native American” because they’re a mix of a few different heritages/ethnicities.

hi helloo. i am indigenous! i am cherokee/chippewa on my dads and i have cherokee on my moms side as well. i’m pretty pale now but you should’ve seen me a few years ago i was SO tan i stuck out like a sore thumb. my siblings are all white and blonde with blue eyes (different dad if anyone is wondering). me? despite being a little pale rn i’m the only one with dark hair and brown eyes. i try to follow my culture (most of my family is gone so im honestly learning how and teaching myself with a little help from others) and have been on a reservation before and plan to go back c: 
i love my ancestors, my people and i want to continue to learn about my culture <3

My grandmother on my moms side (her mom) is enough Cherokee to live on the reservation if she wanted to, and on my dads side we are partially French and Native American. So I would say that I’m a decent amount.
