Anyone still WFH?

Question

Baby Girl just turned 4 months old, and I've been working from home for 2 months now. 8-5 full-time, and it's needed for financial reasons. My job is very accommodating so far. Anyone have tips how to keep this up? She's sleeping less and less, so it's getting harder to juggle both WFH and trying to be the best mom.

I tried to work from home full time with my first while also taking care of him full time and it just didn't work out for me. Of course this depends entirely on your job. I was so stressed trying to get baby to nap exactly at certain times bc I had scheduled calls or something. And then I felt such guilt for always checking my phone or computer while he was awake. I ended up hiring a part time nanny and that helped so much. With my second now, I am wfh part time to balance both. If you have the means to hire part time help at home, I recommend it. You can look into a nanny share too in your area, which is cheaper usually than personal nanny. Good luck!

I second the nanny! I returned to work 4 months after my first was born. It became challenging with meetings as well, and tbh I found that once my son started solids and his eating routine and sleep routine changed entirely, it was hard for me to keep up with him and work. But even with the nanny, I was quite possessive with my son, so he would spend most of his time with me. I would breastfeed him, burp him, let him play and supervise him, and I would listen to his own sleeping cues before putting him down for his naps.  
I kept a play mat in my office and a lot of toys, so I’d make sure he was getting lots of tummy time and meeting his other milestones. Baby-led weaning also made the solids part a little easier for me. 
My nanny/domestic helper actually would clean the house, bath my baby, feed him messy foods like purées and cereal, and change his diapers. 
Once he was walking and with covid last year (so no nanny), he spent a lot of time playing between my office and the family room with nursery rhymes in the background on the tv. Then just before he turned 2 we got him a jungle gym in our yard, and a nanny who now does everything for him (feed, bath, entertain, nap). 
Now I’m WFM again after another 4 months of Mat leave with my second born and 2 year old.
