I’m still figuring it out. To those of us who want a baby and get the positive test to find out it’s a “chemical” is awful. I feel like the term “chemical pregnancy” is unfair to those who want a baby. It’s an early miscarriage. A “chemical pregnancy” means that you were pregnant, but lost it before a heartbeat could be heard. That’s the medical definition I keep finding. Just because implantation didn’t occur properly or the genetics were problematic doesn’t make it any less real to us. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t be sad or hurt because it’s “only a chemical”. As soon as you get the positive test it’s real and valid. Do whatever you need to to mourn that. You’re allowed.
