Newborn won’t nap?

Question

My 2 week old barely naps. I’m lucky if he takes 3 1-hour naps a day and 1 during the night. He is regularly awake for 3-4 hours at a time no matter how much he eats, or how much he’s rocked and soothed and swaddled. He refuses a pacifier and screams bloody murder if set down literally anywhere, even a bouncer. Can anyone help me figure out what to do?

Be consistent and persistent. It will get easier. Break down if you have too. Just don’t give up on trying to settle and get baby into what ever routine works fir you both ❤️❤️

Let's take a look from his perspective. For 9 months, he listened to your heart and was rocked to sleep with your walking. It was also always dark, and it was a tight space. So, try to mimic that environment for him. Put his head on your chest and rock calmly in a chair or walk around. Have him swaddled and the lights off or low. Definitely right after a good feeding should do the trick. Good luck momma and congrats on your baby

I have a 2 week old as well. I swaddle him with the bested bean swaddle. Works wonders, I highly recommend it.

My newborn was like this literally she wouldn’t really nap and at night she’d wake up every two hours , I would cry every single night but she started sleeping for 6 hours straight up until she was 7 months but rarely napped , Some babies are just like that , I’m happy I survived lol I wish you luck because it’s certainly not easy
