How does doctor checks for breech baby?

Question

How does a doctor check for breech baby if not doing ultrasound?? Like do they check from outside of stomach or put something in vagina to check.  What happens?
And what happens at every appointment after anatomy scan? Like they just measure the belly and take bp and hear heartbeat only? And blood test etc. or is there anything else done?

They’re really good at being able to tell what part of the baby they’re feeling. They’ll push around on your belly and can usually feel for the head. If they can feel it they’ll just run the ultrasound over really quick. 
At appts they’ll check the measurements of your belly, check the heart beat, your weight and BP. around 28 weeks you’ll do your glucose test and around 36 week they do the GBS swab and might offer you a cervical check since they have to swab down there anyway.

My youngest was breech till week 39 - my midwife expected if from feeling my tummy and from where she found the heartbeat with the Doppler. I also had several ultrasounds where it was confirmed(he was all over the place but most often head up). I was cleared for a breech vaginal delivery, but luckily he flipped over. 
But other than that they just kept track of his growth and measured my tummy.

My baby was breech. I knew she was as I could feel her head under my ribs. The doctor did an ultrasound at 35ish weeks and confirmed.

Trust your doc, they do it almost daily, they know how to tell what way the baby is inside there.
