I had no idea they still used head gear braces

I've been in a fight with my son because his orthodontist said because of his jaw alignment he needs head gear with his braces. He straight up said no. I honestly didn't know they even still used that. He's 15, an athlete. A typical "Bruh" kind of guy if that makes sense. So we have fought over it and he said "Mom. Don't my imperfections make me unique? Aren't people with imperfect jaws or teeth worthy of love?" Good grief😑. He said to me "Mother... Love me as I am... Or do not love me at all". I quit... I quit motherhood😑

He would have to wear the head gear at least 16 hours a day. He's okay with getting braces but he is not going for the headgear.
