My manger is forcing me to work after vaccine symptoms
I’m a front desk receptionist at a country club, my job forced me to get the vaccine so I did. I just got my second shot and I’m experiencing really bad side effects abdominal pain, body aches, diarrhea and a fever. Some of my symptoms passed but today is the 3rd day and I still have a high fever and body aches. I called my manager to let her know and she called me and advised me to still show up to work so that her boss doesn’t get angry that I’m calling off making the front short a person for today’s 4th of July event. I did what she asked, I began to get dressed for work to avoid the boss getting angry like he usually does, he has a really bad temper and abuses his power. Everyone walks on egg shells around him. Anyway, I’m trying to get dressed and I had to sit back down because I started to feel really weak & faint. I texted her apologizing profusely for the bad timing but I could not physically get up and go to work. She just read my text & didn’t reply back. She made me feel scared that I could get in trouble for calling off. She said she wanted to “protect” me and that’s why she asked me to still show up. I don’t know much about the laws around covid but is he allowed to write me up or fire me for this?
