Buddy middle name?

My mom passed suddenly a week ago. I'd like to recognize her in my 2nd son's name. She always called my 1st son "Buddy". I was thinking about making my 2nd sons middle name Buddy.
What do you all think about Buddy as a middle name?

I like it as a name ok, but I feel like that was a special thing between your oldest and your mom. She gave that nickname to him, not his brother.  By giving it to his brother, it kinda feels like you're taking it from him. What was your mom's name? Maybe you can derive his name from hers to honor her that way? I'm so sorry for your loss.
