My fiancé doesn’t know how to communicate, and I’m getting extremely frustrated.

He’s been away for about a week, and his last day on his project was yesterday. He could have come home after work, which is about a 3 hour drive, but he chose to stay and have dinner with his work colleague and a client and drive in early this morning.

He called me at 6, and we spoke for a few minutes and said “we’re gonna go grab a bite to eat and I’ll call you as soon as I get back to my room”. Ok, no biggie. Well, 11pm rolls around, and I’m getting tired, so I just call to tell him goodnight. I called him 3 times within about 30 minutes, because at this point, I’m worried..He finally answers, and they’re at a freaking bar. I was irritated but let it go. He literally told me they were about to leave in 5 minutes, and said he’d call when he got to the room. Well, I doze off and wake up around 1am. No call. No text. I call him. They’re still at the fucking bar. So, I’m really upset at this point with the lack of respect. And it apparently took him an hour to get back to his room from the bar, which doesn’t even make any sense since his room is less than 20 minutes away. Never got a call or text and I had to initiate the call at 1:55am when he was apparently walking into his hotel room.

I have no reason to not trust him, but it’s the lack of communication and the lack of respect for me that really hurts me. They weren’t in a great part of downtown, either, so that didn’t make matters any better. I’m just venting about the situation…it has nothing to do with him “checking in” with me, but just damn, have some respect for the one’s you love when you’re out of town in a not so great area, and send a simple quick text to let me know you’re safe, and don’t tell me you’re gonna leave in 5 minutes, when you’re gonna be there for another hour and a half. 😢
