did they shave your coochie during labor ?

i was on the phone with my grandma and she was asking me about my postpartum recovery and giving me tips (even though the last time she gave birth was well over 50 years ago haha).
she mentioned that all of her vaginal deliveries the doctor or nurses shaved her- like bald.. she said it was what they did to get you ready to give birth, almost like ritualistic in a way ?
did they do that for y’all ?? bc they did not do that for me lol and i don’t think i’ve ever heard of them shaving your coochie for a vaginal delivery, i heard of them doing it for a c section though
just wondering if this is still common practice

Not common practice now. Yes for C sections, just the part where the incision goes.

Idk why everyone wants to SHAVE. Just use men’s hair and beard trimmers on the lowest trim setting and boom! No razor bumps, barely any hair, and SOOO so much faster and easier. Y’all are welcome 🤗😂

Nope. They actually recommend not shaving right then cause of infection. They also used to give enemas before giving birth.

Man I wish lol right before heading to the hospital with all my labors I was in the shower trying to shave while having brutal contractions. That would of saved me soo much time and effort 🤣

They didn't do that to me. I wasn't shaved with my first kid. I was shaved with the second two, only because post partum bleeding is a bitch with a bush. I had stitches with the first when I didn't shave and the second. They still didn't shave me for that.

Sort of...they shaved the upper area in prep for my csections. There wasn't anything ritualistic about it. 🤣

Oops didn't read all the way, they shaved me for a c-section... But I was in labor at the time 😂. Should have answered no, not yes.
