Cloth diaper recommendations ???

Question

I’m sick and tired of constantly buying diapers at the store. Would like to get cloth diapers for my second when they arrive. What are some recommendations?

Both my husband and I prefer cloth. We had less blowouts with cloth than disposables. It is more work but manageable. We used a combo of fitteds and prefolds with a separate cover. I would highly recommend Green Mountain Diapers for learning about the different types and what would work best for your family.

i like Alvababy and Mama Koala. i have a few odd brands, but these two are my favorite. 
i have found cloth diapers to be pretty simple. some mom groups totally act like its some strict routine. i use powdered Tide and thats it. cold water wash first w 2tbsp of detergent then for a second wash i use warm water w 1tbsp of detergent and an extra rinse. throw them all (inserts and shells) into the dryer on low heat. any stained diapers i leave to dry in the sun. if you really dont wanna touch poop while cleaning them (doesnt make sense why it matters, you have to wipe it off baby in the first place anyways) then get disposable liners. they are like a piece of tissue and lay right on the inside of the diaper. solids stay on the liner, liquids go through. they are literally $5 for 100 pack.

Might want to look into a compostable diaper service. We get our diapers delivered every week, and they pick up our dirty diapers for compost. It’s so green, no water waste, and nothing goes to a landfill. It’s more expensive, but we always have diapers when we need them.

We used cloth starting at 3 months for our first and used them that majority of the time. We had flip cloth diaper covers and just some inserts we found on Amazon. Cloth diapering worked great for us and it wasn't that difficult to do. You just spray the poop off into the toilet and throw it in the bin then wash everything once every 2 days or so. We will be doing it it our 2nd too.

Alvababy is a cheap option for pocket diapers! They are more affordable through the Alvababy website but you can also order them from Amazon. Mama koala is another good affordable brand but my top choice is Noras nursery & Alvababy! 
As far as inserts go, I fold a flour sack towel (from Walmart) and stuff those in the daytime diapers and then for night I pair a flour sack towel with a bamboo insert. 
I realize this might all sound like gibberish so you can ask me questions if you need to! ☺️

I like alvababy pocket diapers.  I bought mine on amazon.  I DONT like the inserts though.  I stuff them with osocozy infant size prefolds instead.  My son is 22 months and I started using them when he was 4 months old (he was a preemie so super tiny) and he’s still in them now.  Totally worth it.  I’ve spent about $250 total in the last 18 months on diapers and will use them with the next baby too.

I mean to me my opinion I would rather buy the diapers rather than the cloth ones you would always have to wash them if they  pee and poo in them and then you have to buy a lot of washing powder to keep them clean I don’t think it’s worth it to me stick to the Disposable diapers. Cloth requires to much and I don’t think they would hold any poo or pee real good your baby would be soaked and full of poo and then you have to deal with that. But in the end it’s your choice. I know I would not!!!
