When did you start using sunscreen on your baby?

Going to the beach in a month with our (soon to be 4 month old) I’ve read not to use it before 6 months but I’m wondering how strict I should be about that.

I have such a hard time understanding why people literally redirections for things and then wonder if they should follow them. Don't use sunscreen until over 6 months. Do you know how many chemicals are in baby sunscreen? Your best bet is to just carry an umbrella

Our doctor said it was okay to use sparingly before 6 months and only on small parts of the body. I think I put it on her once before 6 months and it was only on her feet.

I’d invest in a little sun shade for the beach & wait til 6m. You can find some on Amazon for under $40 or probably even cheaper on Facebook or some sort of second hand type place. When they’re that little it’s not good for them to be in the direct sun too long anyways

You should be strict on it and don’t use it at 4 months. Keep baby shaded, and if he gets sun exposure have him in long sleeves and a hat.

I was told by my baby’s doctor not before 6 months and we stuck to that.
Before 6 months we stayed in the shade and gave you a hat!
