Thyroid test results came back high and ‘can’t’ get a doctors appointment until next Wednesday!

I’m 4 weeks 5 days, had a blood test done last Thursday, got the results back on Saturday and my TSH level is 3.40. Been trying to call the doctors constantly for the past two day, in the end I gave up and got my partner to try for me. I can’t get a phone call until next Wednesday. I’m so worried as I have had 5 previous early losses which are believed to be due to my thyroid and have been told that my level really needs to be at 2.5. Constantly feeling let down by medical professionals🥺 where else can I go/speak to someone sooner? Will it be dramatic of me to go to the hospital/phone the hospital?

Make an appointment with an endocrinologist. You’ll be fine! ♥️

I know! I’ve been there. When I got my high results I cried all day. Cried at the appointment and the doctor was like “woman chill, this is super easy to fix” haha. Don’t worry! Wishing you a healthy pregnancy

It’s going to be ok! Usually if it was anything crazy out of range they would be contacting you. What doctor is it that you can’t get a hold of? Your OB? Have you asked to speak with a nurse? In general I would not like that I couldn’t get a hold of my doctors office… but that being said, I wouldn’t be overly concerned about your situation! I definitely don’t think you need to go to the hospital. But you could keep calling your doctor, tell them you’re concerned and anxious and would like to speak with a nurse. Again, I’ve never had a doctors office that was super hard to get a hold of someone. Both my OB and endocrinologists office always have a nurse call me back within a day if I ever call with concerns. But relax. It’s going to be ok until Wednesday!

Thank you! It’s hard not to worry about absolutely everything sometimes😭 I’ve recently just changed to these doctors and already regret doing it. Never had issues getting through to my old ones! In all honestly the early pregnancy unit at the hospital have always wanted to deal with me early on due to my history of recurrent miscarriages so calling them sounds like a better option compared to my doctors. Hospital want to see me for a 6 week scan in any pregnancy that I have🤞🏻 I’ve never been able to get my thyroid levels correct, I’ve been on Levothyroxine since last November but just have the dosages changed up. I started at 50mcg but that was too much, went to 25mcg and wasn’t getting enough so I’m currently taking 25mcg one day and 50 mcg the next!

Don’t worry! Mine were 4.3 at 7 weeks. They prescribed Eutirox and after 4 weeks, my TSH is 1.2. My endocrinologist wanted me around 1. Go to your doctor so he can send you treatment and you’ll be fine.

It would be dramatic. It’s not extraordinarily out of range and they’ll call you in some meds. It’s nothing to freak out over
