On and off bleeding

I am 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant , I woke up in the middle of the night to some blood in my underwear, it turned into brown spotting, then this morning just a little more blood, and now I am back to just brown discharge again. I automatically assumed I was having a miscarriage, since I had one in December, but I have had no cramps, just some light back pain. Anyone have any advice? Or experienced this too? I haven't had any clots that I was aware of.
