Polyhydramnios

Hi all, sharing as I'm sure I'm not the only one going through this...

I was diagnosed about 6 weeks ago with polyhydramnios, too much amniotic fluid. I've been have ultrasounds done weekly ever since to continue measuring, in the hopes it will decrease on its own. It has only increased. I will be 35 weeks tomorrow, and will now be looking at a c-section anytime after 36 weeks.

In order to help me understand the amount of fluid i am carrying, my doctor said most woman at this stage will have about 2 liters, or a large bottle of soda equivalent. I am carrying about 5 or 6 of those bottles. The pressure i feel is undescribable... I have a 2 year old daughter I can't even comfortably rock at night because any extra weight on my tummy is unbearable.

This is also affecting my breathing. I expected shortness of breath in the 3rd trimester, that's just a give in... but this is sooo much different than my first pregnancy. I can be sitting and all of a sudden I'm breathless, and my O2 drops between 90 and 92%.

Whats worse, we don't know what has caused this! Its common in diabetic moms with poor sugar control, and I am diabetic, however my sugars have been impeccable and my A1C proved it as it came back at 5.6. Other anomalies can cause this, but nothing has been detected on the ultrasounds and baby appears healthy and growing very well!

I'll be doing tons of praying in the last few days that delivery goes smooth and baby is as healthy as he appeared on the ultrasounds. Any prayers from all you other mommas are sure welcome too!
