Birth Control Effectiveness

Hey guys, so just need some reassurance since this is the first time of this whole thing happening. So recently I’ve been taking my birth control irregularly, yesterday (tues going onto Wednesday) I took it at 12:30 a.m. & my bf came in me today, and I took my pill at around 10:50 p.m. (today is wednesday). How effective is the pill if I’ve been taking it late? Should I take a plan b even though I didn’t miss taking the pill? I normally am supposed to take it at 8:30 pm everyday, some days I take it at that time and some days I haven’t. Please help a girl out, just taking precautions!
