question or advice 🥴as a child I was brought up and exposed to alcohol and drugs and knew a lot at a young age . Am I wrong for trying to protect my children from knowing so much so young ? Example I have family from both sides husband and mine who smoke (weed) and I have no issue but here’s the difference my husbands side is very discreet and never ever speaks on it and now my family are open about it … I recently let my family have my girls for summer break and since they’ve been there my kids have learned weed and learned that their aunt and uncle smoke inside the house or around them with a vape . I don’t smoke nor have I ever exposed them to …. I went off tonight on my parents because it’s a weekday and my children are awake at 11 pm fine vacation right but their aware their uncle is in the garage smoking … am I wrong for being upset my parents are exposing my kids to what I went through ? I have no issues with marijuana but it’s a gateway drug … I suffered with addiction at a young age . My MIL who passed away smoked cigarettes and always away from my girls but it was obvious she had a smoking problem and she respected my wishes when it came to changing her clothes after smoking etc . And smoking away from us … Well tonight my mom brought up my mil on how she also smoked and said she wasn’t a saint to judge my siblings aka my daughters uncle and aunt … and that hurt my soul because for one she passed suddenly and recently . Idk am I wrong
