*Child Loss trigger warning story*

Now my son (nearly 3) came out with something that freaked me out and also upset me yesterday, not on purpose but just because of what it was.

My question is, has anyone else's children ever said something that to a lot of people would sound crazy, but seems like a massive coincidence?

So, what I Mean is this:

Last night after watering the garden, my son started this conversation:

"Mummy I don't want to go in the big pool again"

"What your paddling pool?"

"No the big pool, in the garden"

"At Paul's?" (My Uncle)

"Maybe"

"Why baby? You love the big pool, you love swimming"

"No mummy I drowned."

After hearing this my heart sank into my stomach and I felt so sick, I was terrified that something had happened I didn't know about, my parents visit my uncle alot when they have my boy, and I just thought the worst and no one had said anything, but my parents would never ever 1. Leave him alone with water, and 2. Not tell me something like this...

"Baby, what do you mean you drowned"

"I fell and went to the bottom, I couldn't get out"

"When did this happen?"

"I don't know"

"Help mummy understand a bit more please. I need you to tell me who were you with"

"I was alone"

"What happened"

"I was looking, and i climbed and fell."

"What?"

" I hit my head and fell in the water and drowned... you weren't there mummy, why?"

In my 3 years as a mother, I have never felt more guilty over something like this, I have never felt so sick, I was in tears, but what made it a coincidence, is an event from 10 years ago.

10 years ago to the 15th July, my brothers Best Friends son died, he was my sons age 2 and a half. She was 6 months pregnant, and left him watching TV to prep dinner, come back he was gone. They search everywhere and found him in the garden, but it was too late. He had opened the back door and there was a pond they had started emptying but not finished, and sadly, this poor boy climbed up, tripped, hit his head knocking himself out and landed in the water and drowned.

It's broke our hearts for years, my brother loves this woman still to this day, they always talk about their sons as they've both lost them.

Because of this, I have been super Anal with teaching my son confidence in the water and to swim he's not a great swimmer but he can Paddle and he's never unaccompanied, my 4 month old is already really water confidant and when she's a bit older lesson will be there too.

As crazy as it is, I don't think my son is explaining something to me thats happened to him, I think there's something else to this, kids say the strangest things sometimes, sure, but this hit too close to home for me, especially being the anniversary week of Kyle's death.

I've been told it could just be night terrors, but he'd have to have been asleep, this was in the garden tidying up, has anyone else had their kids come out with something bizarre?
