Traveling back home from California at 35weeks pregnant by car 12hours... What would you do?

Long story short our trip got extended and we had to stay an extra week. Should be going home Sunday but I’m just getting super nervous to travel for 12hours...
I’ll be 35 weeks on Sunday.

I'd drive home. You're only 35 weeks. If you're not at risk for preterm labor then you should be fine.

I'd make the trip home just lots of fluids and regular stops to stretch your legs (to avoid a blood clot) it'll be much harder to do the trip one the baby's here as they can't stay in a car seat too long when their first born as it's not a great position for their airways.

Ok so I said go home for two reasons, number one you should be ok! Number two, I live in Illinois and gave birth in Minnesota in a similar situation. I’ll tell you what…. Getting my sons birth certificate has been a NIGHTMARE ever since. He’s 20 now and he couldn’t even get his drivers license till he was 18 because I remarried and had the HARDEST time proving I was his mother when his original got lost over the years. I eventually had to take him up to Minnesota to get it when he turned 18. I think you will be ok momma!!

I moved from the east coast to the west coast at 34 weeks pregnant. 3,000 miles of driving. It’s way better to do before baby comes. Just take breaks, stay hydrated, and get up and walk at every stop even when you don’t feel like it. It’s not too bad.

Make the trip home. We’re mammals - we feel more comfortable giving birth in a familiar place rather than a strange one. 😉
But aside from that, you’ll likely have plenty of time and can make the 12hr drive in one day, if needed. Just take frequent stops to walk around and stretch your legs, I’d say shoot for every 2ish hours. 
I have to travel for work at 36-37 weeks where I’ll be a good 5-10 hours from my birth center.

It will be far worse travelling 12 hours with a new born. They can only stay in a car seat for 60-90 mins at a time so you’ll have to stop way more times than you need need otherwise aswell as having to stop to feed ect. Plus if your sore or need a section I think you should travel home whilst pregnant you still have plenty of time
