It's a long story but a few months ago my husband and I found ourselves at the wrong place at the wrong time during a huge confrontational family dispute. Things got physical and in the process someone got hurt. My husband lost his cool and ended up getting arrested (this man has ENDLESS patience, he is always level headed so it takes a lot to send him over the edge). However, the "other side" of the family decided to drag me into it and because they had more "witnesses" I got arrested as well. I was 17 weeks pregnant at the time. Both of us got booked on felony charges and we've been devastated. I'm due in 6 weeks with my husbands first child and I'm going into my third year of college for a profession that won't allow felons. Not to mention I also have a 7 year old daughter. Anyways, up until Wednesday it was up in the air about what kind of punishment we were looking at but after talking with our lawyer we found out my charge is being dropped completely due to lack of evidence and although my husband might still be facing the felony, he won't be serving any prison time! He is looking at short term probation. We are SO relieved! It was terrifying to think about how he might miss the birth of his child or miss her first Thanksgiving or Christmas.
