I’m at a point in my life where I don’t want to deal with shallow relationships.

This person I’m talking to keeps sending memes. At this point we’re just friends. He claims he likes talking to me, but will rarely if ever initiate a text conversation. He just keeps sending memes. There have been days I go without looking at the memes. He’ll still send them.

I asked my other guy friend about this, and he admitted that sometimes if he doesn’t know how to start a conversation with a girl he’ll send a meme.

Is it really that hard for guys to come up with something to say?

I really do want to be friends with this guy. But for me, sending memes back and forth hardly constitutes as a conversation. I feel as if I shouldn’t have to make that clear. Part of me views it as him being too lazy to try and strike up a conversation
