I just had court with my daughter’s dad for custody. It’s 50/50 custody, but he actually has a little more parenting time than me. I was really confused after court because I thought I was going to be paying child support and then found out that he could actually owe me child support. I always thought that the parent with the most time got paid child support.. guess I was wrong. My daughter’s dad doesn’t know this, so if he ends up having to pay, he’s gonna be pissed. That’s the whole reason he was fighting so hard for extra days, he didn’t want to pay child support. So, I have a feeling that if he realizes he’s paying me child support and keeping her a couple extra days a month, he’s gonna want to go back to court and fight for more days or to give me the extra days that I was asking for. Has anyone ever heard of the parent with more parenting time having to pay child support?
