Any doctors/nurses that can answer why this is happening?

My had a bacterial infection (pneumonia) went to hospital and was on life support for 10 days and ended up with a tracheotomy so that she could regain strength which worked and now she’s home with the trach removed and healed. However it’s been a month and she has not regained her taste, she tastes a little bit but she just does not feel like eating much as she cannot taste it.

She’s asked the doctors and they have been very vague, she’s also having trouble with her ear (they say there’s water or something trapped) I just don’t know what to do, she’s miserable as I would be if I couldn’t taste anything too :( she was on antibiotics and it was literally life and death and she survived.

Please if you have any info or any sort of info that would be great!
