I have been unable to get a job since I got laid off due to covid and recently I told my close friend I was going to start a business and I have been working towards it intensely. She was super excited about my business idea and has been there to listen to my rant regarding the ups and downs. She also mentioned If I need anything I should let her know. I usually ask her about her opinion on some patterns and styles I picked out etc etc. It is close to my launch date and she asks how much I will charge her for basically the most expensive thing I’m selling and I told her I will give her 10% off at first but told her I changed my mind I will give her wholesale price for her first purchase. Mind you the thing she is interested in is quite expensive, the wholesale price is about $300 WITHOUT profit. I planned on giving her 6 other items that are less than $100 for free.

She called me today crying saying me telling her I will give her 10% is a slap in the face because she thought we were better than that and I was supposed to give her wholesale price off the top. She mentioned she has been there to listen to my ideas and pick out items when I’m stuck on what to pick blah blah.

I haven’t even launched this business yet and I have spent about $15k trying to get everything+ my products together. I’m I wrong for even saying 10% at first? What will you do?
