Cramping a week before period?
Hey! I’m due for my period on the 1st of August.
My daughter is a year old and I’ve had 3 regular cycles since giving birth. I’ve never experienced any irregularities with my cycle prior to falling pregnant.
I am not on any form of contraception, and I have been having regular unprotected sex with my partner, and while we are not actively trying for a second baby, we also are not preventing it. He has finished in me on multiple occasions through this cycle, including on my predicted peak fertility day.
Earlier that day I had some slight cramping, breast tenderness and increased cervical mucus, which I figured was in relation to ovulating. Later that same same, my partner and I had sex and he finished in me. Afterwards, I noticed some spotting with dark blood which lasted for 2 days. It was very insignificant and was not enough to require a tampon or large pad, a liner was sufficient.
I’ve never experienced this, so I saw my doctor and there is no indication of anything wrong… Could this bleeding be due to ovulation? My period finished on the 9th July, and I experienced the spotting on the 17th July.
I’m now 6 days before my period is predicated to start, and I’m experiencing some cramping with sore breasts, which could be due to PMS.
I’m wondering if I should classify my spotting as a period, in which case if it’s “late”, I shouldn’t immediately stress, or if It’s a high possibility for pregnancy? Can a pregnancy test show an accurate result 6 days before your period is due?
