I’m scared

So I’ve been on nuva ring for 3 months now. I use it for four weeks to skip out on my period, the doctor told me it was ok. But recently I’ve been have extremely unbearable cramps, and been bleeding through 2-3 pads a day. (I can’t wear tampons because it hurts to insert them.) is this ok, I told my mom and she told me I’m fine but I don’t seem ok. I can’t even get out of bed some days.
