Does your 5 year old have separation anxiety?

I’m a stay at home mom and I don’t know if it’s a mixture of her personality + me being home + Covid, but she is a stage 5 clinger. I want to enjoy it, I do. I just worry she should be past this. I can’t even go to the grocery store or anything without her being upset and wanting to come. She is glued to me all the time. She is the oldest of 3.

It could be partially because you’re a SAHM and Covid, but could also mostly just be her personality. Is she starting kindergarten? That should help, though I am sure it will be hard on her at first! My kids (5 and 3) both typically want to go with me if I go to the grocery store or anywhere else, but my 5 year old doesn’t get upset if I tell him he can’t come unless he thinks it will be particularly fun. Still, I don’t find that too odd and think after she starts school yours will probably be just fine.
