Am I wrong for making my 16 y/o son help with bills

My son got his first job 3 months ago and gets paid bi-weekly. He doesn't have any bills of his own. I pay everything and buy him everything, food, provide shelter, clothing. He gets paid 600$ bi-weekly but I get 500 out of it (to take care of him & help pay bills) and leave him with 100$. Btw my son doesn't go anywhere like a regular teen so he don't need money to splurge and spend.

I was telling my mom about this and she said I was being ridiculous and how she never did me that way but I didn't have a job as a teen. But I was telling her its absolutely not ridiculous when I'm taking care of him & he's happy. He still saves the money he gets and buy himself things from time to time but he already has everything he needs! Am I wrong? Do your grown kids help around the house?
