TMI/TW: IS THIS NORMAL?!

Hello this is the first time I’ve ever been pregnant I’m estimated 1mo and 3days, I used the bathroom and then this happened. 😢 is this spotting or should I go to the er?

Don’t go to the Emergency Room. Nothing they can do and you are taking a bed away from someone else that could be life threatening.

Talk to your doctor first. If a miscarriage the ER cant do much because it isnt life threatening unless ectopic. If you fill a pad or two in an hour then go to the ER because you could be bleeding out. Otherwise call your doc or midwife and ask for an HCG blood draw and they can track if the pregnancy is progressing. 
On the flip side. Spotting can be totally normal. Can be from a sensitive cervix if you recently had sex or used a toy, can be from excess material from ovulation, can be from a cyst, etc..etc.. so let your doc/midwife know and otherwise you get to monitor it to see if it gets worse. If you have an increase in cramping and increase in bleeding it could be a miscarriage.

The ER won’t do anything for you besides charge you $100+. If it is a MC nothing can be done. Spotting like that can be normal. If you fill a pad within 1 hour then I’d call your doctor

Spotting can be harmless, but can also.be something more. I would call your OB's office and ask to be seen due to bleeding. My office would bring me in for a scan and run hcg labs. The ER may not really tell you much. But could be used as a last resort if needed.
