Cervical cancer?

Hi, my period ended a while ago and my next period isn’t starting anytime soon. Whenever I wipe, I see this. Earlier today I went running and when I came back, there was a bunch of DARK brown discharge everywhere. I don’t believe it’s leftover blood for my period and I’m not ovulating. Some of you probably have seen my previous posts, but I’m including a picture in this one. Again, I am 16, have normal periods, not on birth control or sexually active. I am now experiencing some mild pelvic pain. Has anyone had this experience and could it be cervical cancer? I want to know if it’s normal, or enough concern to go to the doctor.

Brown means old blood… This does NOT indicate cervical cancer! If you have serious concern about your health, go to a doctor.

It’s normal to have discharge that includes old blood throughout your cycle, not only during period. Many people experience this at the time of ovulation. It’s completely normal. It is also normal to feel pain during ovulation. Considering that you are a teenager, it is really normal to experience all of these things in a more extreme way just because your hormones and body are still going through so many changes. I’m sorry, it could be awhile until you feel comfortable with all of this. Having said that, you should see a doctor just in case. It is always a good idea to have things documented because gynecologist really like to look at history to see if there are any changes. Either way, I don’t think you should jump to cancer. It could be ovarian cysts, fibroids, polyps, endometriosis, infection, hormone imbalance and on and on. Don’t worry, but do see a gynecologist.

The way to tell if you have cervical cancer is through screenings. It just looks like old blood though so I wouldn't stress over it. I recommend seeing a gynecologist sooner rather than later, it's always good to have someone professional, understanding and knowledgeable in your corner. They can help answer any questions you may have, judgement free and when you are ready to be sexually active they will help guide you in the healthy and safest path for you. Best of luck to you

Hun that definitely looks like old blood! It’s normal. You can shed little by little even after your period. Unless your direct family members(women obviously) are high risk for cervical cancer and you’ve been tested to be counted high risk you’re fine!
