Spotting before period

So I've always had very regular on time periods, the last few months they haven't been so on schedule, not like way off just off by a few days here and there. But pretty much every month for the last few months I have been spotting a few days before my period, like 4-5 days before just for one day or so really light and then nothing until my period. Is that normal or should I go talk to a gynecologist about it.
