Covid Vaccine?

Question

Has anyone in this group received the Covid vaccine after finding out you were pregnant? This is something I do plan on discussing with my Dr. at my first appointment, but was curious to see what others Dr.s had told them and if anyone has gotten it after finding out they were pregnant. Thanks!

I’ll join the convo and say I expect my doctor will try to encourage it just like they encouraged flu shot with my last pregnancy which I declined. It’s a personal choice, and you shouldn’t feel pressured by anyone or anything to do something that you don’t want to do. 
I worked as a nanny during my last pregnancy and did catch a cold in 2019 (was it covid....maybe??) but it was the worst sickness I ever had and to endure it through pregnancy with little meds was miserable. Did I survive? Yeah! Did it suck? Yeah! Was my baby fine? Yeah! Am I afraid of getting sick this pregnancy? Nah.
That being said, for me personally, now I’m a stay at home mom and I have little exposure to the outer world at this time in my life and I’m also a young healthy individual with no other complications. Most of my family has already had covid and recovered (including my 86 year old grandfather who’s main symptom was a runny nose). This is obviously not the norm for everyone, but for me, I’m not worried. 
But definitely talk to your doctor and stay informed! Ultimately you get to choose what’s best for you and your baby, that’s all I’m saying 😊

I got mine pre-pregnancy, but a dr I work with got hers when she was in her first trimester and her and the baby are both doing wonderful!

After a lot of research and looking at the pros vs. cons I decided to just go on and get my first vaccine today. I’m at high risk of catching the virus so I felt it was best to get vaccinated now since the numbers are rising in my area right now. Good luck to everyone in your decisions!

Got my first just before conceiving and my second at 5 weeks. Had 24 hours of mild fever, chills and ache. I’m a nurse so have high exposure risk, happy I got it.

Mine is a bit more cautious I think. They have not gone out of their way to recommended it and just said “there’s not much research” when asked.  I didn’t press too much because I was leaning towards waiting until I’m done nursing this one since this is our last anyway.
I think this is an instance where there are a lot more factors to consider. Like if you work from home and have little exposure, it might be safer to wait and get it after birth because you have a low chance of getting Covid where as if someone that works with the public a lot has more of a risk of catching Covid, might want to take the chance with the vaccine. There’s risks either way and you just have to decide what’s best for you and your family structure.

I got my first shot before getting pregnant and the second around 5 or 6 weeks. My doctor/midwife team recommended it :) Currently just shy of 7 weeks.

I just had my second shot today I’m 7 weeks. I was very on the fence but my healthcare provider recommended it and said the sooner the better with so many things opening up where we are. I’m an elementary teacher and want it to be in full effect before school in the fall.

I am scheduled to get my first next week. My dr highly recommended it and they told me it didn’t mater how far along I was the sooner the better. I am still super nervous.

My hubby got vaccinated today and he was told to tell me I should wait until the second trimester to get it! Such a scary time! I don’t know what to do!

Just get it. You’ll be fine. I know a lot of people who died from covid but zero vaccinated people including pregnant friends or babies who died from a vaccine.
