Does your partner help with baby at night if he has work?

Question

I have a 2 month old. He’s usually fed formula at 11pm and also around 2-3am . After feeding formula I will pump just to keep up my supply. 
If my partner has work the next morning he will always chuck the shits and throw a mini tantrum because he doesn’t want to feed the baby whilst I pump, he just says “you don’t need to pump!” And scoffs and rolls his eyes. UM YES I DO UR NOT THE ONE WITH ENGORGED SORE BOOBS AFTER NOT PUMPING FOR HOURS! 
It’s not like I’m asking him to feed the whole bottle! It’s handy for him to feed for like 5-10mins while I pump and then I can do the rest of the feeedjng, burping, keeping him upright for a bit, put him down AND THEN GO PUT MY BREASTMILK AWAY! 
And it’s not like he actually feeds the bottle either, he just sooks because he Thinks I’m gonna make him feed the bottle but I always feel too bad because he has work so I never actually make him do it , especially if he Carries on like that. 
Seriously though with him feeding the bottle for litterally just 10minutes it cuts down my awake time by so much. 
He works 4days on 4days off starting at 6am but I feel like I’m the selfish one complaining because he has work in the mornings….

My husband helped even when I nursed through the night. (Only had bottles at daycare). And he works railroad so long hours every day and very manual labor. 
Your husband needs to grow up and take responsibility for his child. It took 2 tango, he can parent also.

Nope. I ebf so there’s no reason at all for both of us to miss sleep. If I have to be up anyway then I don’t see a point in him being up too. But…he absolutely wouldn’t complain if I asked for help and would sit up all night if I needed him to.

Absolutely. We would alternate overnight feedings. Work doesn't excuse you from being a parent.

My husband leaves our house at 3am for work Tues-Friday and has sat-mon off. With our first she was combo fed and he would actually wake me up at 2am to pump before he left and would feed the baby from 2:30-3a. He would change her, feed her, put her back to bed, take care of my milk & pump parts, and then head to work. On his days off he would do full night duty and only wake me to pump. 
With this baby shes EBF so he gets up and changes her diaper, gives her to me, and makes sure i dont need anything before he leaves.

My husband ATTEMPTED to help when we were still having middle of the night wakings. I say attempt because he never woke up fully and was ALWAYS sleepwalking to take care of her. 
One time, she woke us both up at like 2-3am. I got up to feed her, and he got up as well to help change her diaper when she was finished. I noticed he was getting fully dressed, shoes, hat, the whole shebang. When he grabbed his car keys, I asked him what he was doing, and this guy looks me dead in the face and says "We're missing parts. I have to go get them."

I laughed, sent his ass back to bed, and stopped waking him up. Didn't want there to be a safety issue with him not being fully awake. Now, she sleeps pretty much through the night so it isn't much of an issue.

Yep lol every-time he woke up he would wake. I too had to pump so he would feed him while I pumped. Breastfeeding is a hard journey lol and pumping even harder !! But I will say when he’s about 4.5-6 months I would sleep train !!! My son has been sleeping through the night 10-12 hours and it’s the best thing ever

I’m a VERY do it myself person, especially when it comes to my babies but I agree with you hun. He’s being immature about the small favor you’re asking from him and him thinking that you taking care of BOTH your child while all he has to do is go to work, come home, sleep, and do it all over again is his job, is messed up. I’d be super petty and see if I could stay with family for a week then leave and either tell him to his face or leave a note saying that you’re gonna stay with family for some alone time with your son since you don’t need his help with his kid anyways.

Yes he does. If my daughter wakes up before 4:30, he gets up to change her so I can get ready to feed her ( I have a forceful letdown so I use my haaka before feeding). But if it’s after that, I haaka before she gets too fussy, and then change and feed her and let him sleep because he can’t go back to sleep after that.  
I go back to work next week so that ends lol.

Yes. Yes he does. Bc if a was a single parent or if he was who else would? I’m just as tired as he would be with work.
