We are having a rough time trying to get my 5 week old LO to settle in his bassinet. The only way seems to be to hold him until he falls deeply asleep in my arms and transfer him but this takes ages. The ‘drowsy but awake’ approach doesn’t work he opens his eyes and screams as soon as I walk away.

As a result he becomes overtired in the day from lack of naps and at night it’s simply a nightmare. Waking every hour or less and having to soothe him back in the bassinet.

I have bed shared a couple of times out of pure desperation and feel so horribly guilty.

Any advice please
