Prenatal vitamins and when to start taking them?

Can anyone recommend the best pretnatal vitamins and when to start taking them? I plan on ttc in the next 8-10 months! I’m 36 and I’ve never been pregnant before.

It is often recommended that all women who are capable of being pregnant take prenatal vitamins. If not, 3 months before TTC. Although there are guidelines for how much vitamin and minerals a pregnant person needs DRIs), there isn’t really a best prenatal vitamin because needs will differ based on age, medical history, etc. For example someone may need more iron due to anemia. 
You want to make sure your combination of prenatal multivitamin and perhaps additional vitamins have enough folate (should be in the methylated form), choline, DHA, iron, calcium, vitamin D. Your multivitamin may not contain 100% of everything so you may need to take something separate though. Talk to your OB too!
