Hearing from God

I pray to God very often, multiple times a day, sometimes I ask Him for things but that’s definitely not the only things I pray for. I know it’s not about feelings but I feel as if I never hear from God. Sometimes I’ll ask for signs, like “give me a sign about this person” or “give me a sign about what am I called to do in the future” I don’t know if I’m just not observant enough to see signs or if He’s just not giving them to me. I don’t know if I’m asking too much or what. I’m just so confused about a lot of things and I try to seek answers from God but Im never left sure of anything, I don’t know what He wants me to do. Any advice? How do I recognize signs?
