I'm currently 3 weeks out and I had stopped bleeding completely around 7 days after birth (via c section) but Sunday after arriving home and getting situated, I started bleeding heavily a dark brown blood. It soaked the hospital pads easily.I have noticed that I start bleeding only when I am moving and busy, and I've been uncomfortable down "south" (like period pains). I hadn't got to go to my week checkup because of a ride and the babes being in NiCU, I kinda of pushed myself to the back burner... 
My question is, is it normal for this to happen?
Do you start a period 3 weeks after?

I would say it’s not a period, moving around just irritates things and causes more bleeding. You have to remember that however you deliver, you still have massive healing to do internally. There’s a wound on your uterus the size of the placenta and it takes time to heal that. Take care of yourself, rest when you can, drink lots of water, eat nutrient dense foods when possible

I stopped bleeding at 6 or 7 days postpartum after a c-section as well. The last day that I bled, I went for a walk and started having gushes of bright red blood. My doctor said that because the cervix doesn’t dilate with a c-section, there’s blood that gets trapped and can come out later. So moving around coaxes that blood out. I’m 2 weeks postpartum now and randomly started having gushes of blood again yesterday. It’s brownish in color though so it must be old blood. My doctor did say that I may have a couple of these random gushes. So maybe it’s that? If you’re having clots bigger than a grape, that’s something to be concerned about though.
