Harmless or not? He sends a love emoji to one of my stories. Then when I send him a few messages about it, he gives me a thumbs up. He's my crush by the way. I just wonder if he's just busy or really doesn't want to talk to me

I use the thumbs up when I don’t want to be outwardly (too) rude, but definitely want to end that line of conversation. Sounds like he’s not interested in the chat, but that’s not a death knell for the relationship. Try to engage him on other topics and see his reaction. If he shuts it down again, he’s not interested.
