Does baby really need tummy time?

I haven't done tummy time except a few times with my 14 week old she always screams and won't stop screaming until she passes out from the stress of it what should I do does she really need it?

It is highly beneficial 
Helps prevent flat spots on the back of your baby's head
Makes neck and shoulder muscles stronger so baby can start to sit up, crawl, and walk
Improves her motor skills (using muscles to move and complete an action). 
Almost all babies I know, including my own never liked tummy time, but it gets done anyways. Small intervals since literally day 1 from the hospital. (3-5 min).

It’s important to do it so they gain strength. You can lay her on her stomach on your chest to see if she will lift her head there.

Yes but like others have said you can do different types of tummy time not just laying on their tummy that strengthen the same muscles. Try shorter times more often and mixing it up with time on your chest and such. My babes also loved having a mirror in front of them to lift their head to look at. Toys/colorful mats too.

It is important! But it doesn’t have to be on the floor! Try laying baby on the couch so you can get on eye level. Or lay them on your chest. Try to find things that are engaging like high contrast images or something that makes sounds. I know it can be so hard. If babe is screaming and crying, it’s not worth “pushing through” to do tummy time. Look up these two Instagram accounts. I maybe did actual tummy time like 5 times with my daughter because she hated it. However I tried to sit her slightly up and have her lay on me almost constantly and she developed fine. As long as you aren’t leaving baby on their back all the time it should be ok

Like mostly everyone has already stated, it’s really beneficial for the baby, but most babies don’t like it, so you’re not alone!!! Try putting a mirror in front of your baby, or some sort of fun toy. You can even put them in front of a window so they can see outside. Laying on top of your chest (I know this was also mentioned). You can even prop your baby up on top of a boppy pillow to make it more comfortable instead of being completely flat on their tummy. If you happen to have a kick and play piano, you can also set the piano portion up in front of your baby. Anything to keep them distracted and occupied, for as long as they’re willing to stand it!! Hmm.. My baby was different, she was holding up her neck almost since her birth, she would hardly lie down when awake and always wanted to be on tummy or wanted to see around..
If your baby cries doing tummy time you should go see a dr, there can be an underlying issue.. Tummy time is extremely important to babies development

I was babysitting someone’s 10 month old who couldn’t even sit up on his own and barely lift his head due to the parents not doing tummy time. So yes pls do tummy time every day

I barely did it with my baby (she’s almost 6 months now) and we just within the last month have been doing it more. We have had struggles with her feeding (both breast and bottle) so it’s taken her entire wake window to feed before she naps, So we rarely had time to do tummy time nor play. Also she hated it. Now she doesn’t mind it so much and she’s already so strong and improving SO much in the last 3-4 works. Don’t stress about it! ❤️
