Any idea why my 6wk old will root on my nipple aggressively but never latch?

This has been happening the past week. She will be crying and i put her to the breast and she will root on my nipple violently lol and never latch and starts crying clearly frustrated. I usually just move her to the other breast where she will usually latch. This happens when my breast is full or soft so its not that my breast is too full…

I’ve been experiencing the same situation with my little boy (7W 3D) the last week or two as well.  Wasn’t sure what the issue could be - same as you that it doesn’t seem to matter if I’m “full” or not… and switching him to the other usually does the trick as well.  I found it to be odd since he’s had no problems latching since day 1…  but seems like it’s common…

My little did that too, wouldn’t close her mouth, just wide open back and forth with my nipple in her mouth yelling. Still sometimes does, my lc just told me that’s something they have to figure out
