Ever since I had my son, (now 10 months) I do not let him sleep with a blanket, because I know the risk associated with it. My mom always gives me shit because anytime he stays with her, she’d want to give him a blanket and I would ask her not to. And she thinks it’s ridiculous. And today she told my family about it at a cookout we had, and everyone thought I was so ridiculous for not giving him a blanket, and that he wasn’t ever going to be comfortable, and “how does he sleep comfortably” & “how does he stay warm” & it made me feel like shit for not giving my baby a blanket. I tried to explain to them isn’t safe.. but it was all the same “I did it with my kids and they’re fine”. I’m just irritated because they were all laughing at me, & I don’t bash anyone for giving their child a blanket, to each their own, however it is recommended not to give your infant a blanket until they are like 14 or 18 months or something like that? So I don’t see why they acted like my son was just like uncomfortable & that I’m so insane for not giving him a blanket.
