Positive GBS- homebirth
Tested positive for GBS at 37 weeks. I’m 38+4 today. No signs of labor.
Our plan is to just keep a careful watch on me and baby. No antibiotics. My midwife doesn’t administer them so if I wanted to do the antibiotics we’d have to go the hospital route. The risk seems so low and I am not willing to let go of my home birth plan for such a low risk. Am I crazy?! The more time I have to think about this the more nervous I feel. ALSO I’m even more nervous (being GBS+) about my water breaking and my not noticing it… This is my second child and with my first, the water breaking was rather ambiguous.
Anyone else happen to be in or have had a similar dilemma? What did you do?
