Giving birth without a car
This might be a silly question, but my husband, toddler and I are moving to a city with excellent public transpo, and where owning a car would be inconvenient, so we're not planning on having one.
I'm pregnant, and I'm wondering what people do when they actually give birth in this situation. I imagine we'd take a taxi to the hospital when I go into labor (which sounds both hilarious and miserable to me - my water broke on the drive to the hospital last time 😅), but then how do you get home with your newborn?
And in the case we want to try a home birth (something I'd really like to do), then is the only option for a hospital transfer an ambulance (usually a partner will drive you there in non-emergencies)?
Thanks in advance!
